Does Not Collaborate List

The following list will include law enforcement agencies, or similar groups, who opted to avoid collaborating with Predator Stoppers:

Concord Police Department (North Carolina)
In 2022 Predator Stoppers was tracking an active predator who was continuously seeking to arrange a sexual interaction with a person they believed to be a child. A meeting between this individual was being arranged to take place at the Concord Mills shopping mall, which happens to host a CPD substation within. One of our investigators made successful contact with Captain McGhee, who was very helpful in putting our organization in direct contact with detectives. However, after a short conversation with detectives, Predator Stoppers was notified that CPD would not assist in the investigation due to a lack of support from the district attorney’s office. In this case, the DA was not concerned with prevention. As a result, Predator Stoppers closed the investigation on this individual, allowing them to proceed with their malicious activities. Who knows what they may have gone on to do?

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (Indiana)
In June of 2024 Predator Stoppers attempted to contact the Sex Crimes office within IMPD to report an adult male in his 30s who was attempting to solicit sexual interactions from someone as young as 13. On the second attempt at reaching IMPD a voicemail was left. Predator Stoppers made it clear that the primary goal was to submit a report in order to provide information about this high-risk individual within their community. Multiple contact options were provided to IMPD accompanied by a detailed explanation of the current situation. IMPD has yet to respond.

Public Service Announcement

Predator Stoppers cannot stress the importance of collaboration enough. While a lack of support from prosecutors can be a deciding factor for many agencies, it is important to understand that the sole mission of our organization is prevention. Whether or not charges are filed, the case is dropped, or the verdict is “not guilty” in the end, every paper trail aids in deterring a perpetrator from becoming an offender. Not only does an arrest, or any interaction with law enforcement, potentially aid in deterring an individual from committing crimes, it also serves to build a track record of their actions for later use. Choosing to not take action is negligence and suffices for Predator Stoppers to interact with media companies. During many of our investigations we have noticed a spike in confidence from child predators who feel as if they are legally untouchable. They are developing egos due to the inefficacy of law enforcement agencies to act when someone is actively trying to break the law. In this case, the consequences of not acting can be incredibly high. What these individuals are trying to do now may eventually become what they did do because of a failure to act. The butterfly effect of ignoring these individuals can easily lead to children becoming harmed and traumatized since the perpetrators were never stopped.

Public Relations Tip:
In case our message needs to be clearer, any law enforcement agency which fails to pursue these criminals, who later goes on to harm children, may easily face substantial legal, financial, and reputational damage for their failure to act accordingly.

Prevention:
The goal of Predator Stoppers is prevention. Pursuing charges after someone has taken advantage of a child is not enough. This is the sole reason why our organization exists. We are cognizant of the fact that many law enforcement agencies are underbudgeted, understaffed, and unable to keep up with the workload and demands placed upon them by the increasing crime rate. Because of this, our work focuses on filling the gap and identifying the predators who are in the process of looking for victims. We aim to arrange a meeting between your agency and them before they arrange a meeting with a child. Let’s succeed in our common mission of protection through prevention, rather than only focusing on justice for horrors that have already been done.
